Come by train!

Trains run regularly from Manningtree station which is connected to to Ipswich, Norwich, Colchester, London and beyond. The train station is very central. The line is called the Mayflower Line and is part of the Greater Anglia Network.

THE SHANTY TRAIN - SOLD OUT

There is a special Shanty Train that runs twice from Manningtree (and stops at all stations to Harwich) on Saturday morning (11am and 12pm). You book tickets for this directly from the Essex and South Suffolk Rail Partnership. Climb on board, and get a hearty dose of singing before you even arrive. 

DOVERCOURT & WALK

Dovercourt station which is the station before Harwich is also very close to the action. If you fancy a stroll through Dovercourt on your way in, there are lots of services there. And you actually pass the Redoubt Fort and the Masonic Hall if you walk along Main Road.

CAR: Harwich sits at the end of the A120. Travellers from the Midlands and North will join the A12 or A137 in the south Ipswich area. Those travelling from London and the South will take the A12 before joining the A120 near Colchester. There is limited parking in the town so we recommend taking public transport where possible. 

PARKING

Trinity House offers FREE PARKING for the festival on SATURDAY and SUNDAY between 9am and 6pm. No overnight parking. The parking area is accessible from West Street.

There is a free carpark in Dovercourt - Low Road Carpark. It is a walk up to the old town but it's roomy and free. Or catch the Shanty Bus! (Details in the programme.)

You can park at Harwich International Station carpark and either get the Shanty bus into town from Parkeston or get the train which is very quick and easy.
